CBD Oil Basics

CBD oil with the rise of “Cannabis for Culture” has gained a lot of popularity among people across the world. However the Hemp plant has been used for all its benefits for hundreds of years and this is proven through the history literature. People use CBD oil not only for themselves but also for their pets these days and with good reasons

Most CBD oils on the market do not contain significant amounts of THC, which is the psychoactive compound of cannabis and is not legal in many states. CBD oil does not get you high. The purpose is not to get you high but to heal and nourish your body.

Types of CBD oils

Isolate, is a pure, crystalline powder that contains 99% pure CBD. All the plant matter contained in the hemp plant, including oils, waxes, chlorophyll, and more are removed, offering a finished product that's CBD and nothing more.

Full spectrum CBD oil contains all the cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant in nature, including less than 0.03% of THC. Full spectrum oil is amazing due to the benefit of the entourage effect. This is the phenomenon of using all the compounds of the hemp plant to create a CBD oil that works best for maximum health benefits.

Broad spectrum CBD oil contains everything that full spectrum oil does except the THC.

The CBD compound in the oil holds all the active properties that makes this oil highly beneficial to use.

Uses and Benefits

CBD oil is medically beneficial for a number of reasons. It may effectively treat epilepsy, chronic pain, inflammation, PTSD, anxiety, depression, arthritis, psychosis, and even chronic illnesses. People also take it to boost their immune system and for regular health maintenance. Humans have been scientifically proven to have an endocannabinoid system already in place so it only seems natural that there is a plant that can replenish and nourish this part of our biological makeup. The main function of our endocannabinoid system is to maintain bodily homeostasis; biological harmony in response to changes in the environment.

Topical Use

As I always stress the skin is our biggest organ and thankfully research has shown that CBD oil is highly absorbable through the skin and goes into our bloodstream. Furthermore it relieves the signs of inflammation topically, helps relieve acne, eczema, and control signs of ageing with its antioxidative and moisturizing properties. It also relieves pain topically effectively. It has no adverse effects on the skin and can be used on sensitive skin as well.

The best way to dose CBD oil in my opinion and based on the research I have seen is to microdose. This is basically taking small amounts of the oil, usually a few drops, several times a day to assess the effectiveness it has on your own body. Once you have reached the desired Therapeutic level then you dose regularly accordingly.

I have noticed that if I take a dose higher than my body needs I will get a headache so I recommend to listen to your body and its needs. CBD oil is not in my opinion a product that is a one size fit all when it comes to dosing. This is because each individual’s endocannabinoid system may be lacking differently.

Always remember it is very important to discuss with your healthcare professsional when starting a new herbal supplement. This is because some supplements may intact with medications. CBD oil is known to increase the serum levels of some drugs in the body. It is also discussed that any medication that has a counter interaction with grapefruit should be avoided when consuming CBD oils, as both have similar chemical makeup and interact similarly.

Lastly in regards to where to get your CBD oils; it is important to know the origins of the oils as many are not what they say they are. It is always a good idea to have CBD oil that is 3rd party lab tested for purity and to ensure that you are getting the best type of CBD oil for your needs. There is also no need to overspend as there are many affordable options on the market.

Of course, remember that not all natural alternatives work the same for everyone and results may vary based on individual needs and biological makeup. However, I strongly believe that the benefits outweigh any negative effects when it comes to CBD oil.

Stay healthy and always...
